Apple May Bring AR Contact Lenses in 2030s In Move Towards Invisible Computing Era: Kuo
News 18Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has predicted the company’s future plans for its Augmented Reality products. The TF Securities analyst, in a research note shared with MacRumours, said that the Cupertino-based giant will release its AR contact lenses in the 2030s, further stating that the lenses will bring electronics from the era of “visible computing” to “invisible computing.” Kuo said that the AR contact lenses will likely have an independent computing power and storage, further suggesting that it may rely on a connection to an iPhone or another device. Apart from the AR contact lenses, Kuo also made predictions about Apple’s “mixed reality” headset and a pair of AR glasses. In his research note, Kuo said that Apple plans to release its mixed reality headset next year in 2022, and the AR smart glasses may come by 2025. For the “mixed reality” headset and the AR smart glasses also, Kuo said that the two products will come with their separate power and storage source.
