China's Foreign Trade Soars to Record High in First Three Quarters

China's foreign trade grew significantly in the first three quarters of 2024, with both exports and imports increasing. The country's exports reached 18.62 trillion yuan, up 6.2 percent year-on-year, while imports rose to 13.71 trillion yuan, up 4.1 percent. This growth is attributed to China's optimization of its exported products, with exports of high-tech equipment increasing by 40 percent year-on-year between January and September. Additionally, China's exports of electro-mechanical products grew by 8 percent on a yearly basis, accounting for 59.3 percent of its total exports.
