‘Prevention of human trafficking is a collective responsibility of all’
The HinduOnly a change in attitude of parents, an awareness among people, especially women, of laws against child and bonded labour and human trafficking would remove these scourges from the society, said S. Mani, Principal, Police Training College. Addressing a seminar on ‘Trafficking of persons Bill-2016’ here on Wednesday, he said prevention of human trafficking was the collective responsibility of all stakeholders such as the police, public and the government agencies. When lodging a complaint with the police about bonded labour, the complainant must also include the human trafficking component to make the case strong against the offenders, usually the agents. The college would conduct training on gender sensitisation and human trafficking soon, Mr. Mani said.
