Bihar polls: Unhappy with seat sharing, Mukesh Sahni's VIP quits Grand Alliance; likely to join NDA
India TodayBollywood set-designer-turned-politician Mukesh Sahni's Vikassheel Insaan Party walked out of the Mahagathbandhan on Saturday, moments after the Grand Alliance announced its seat-sharing arrangement for the Bihar assembly elections. Announcing this arrangement, RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan's chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav said he would accommodate VIP and the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha within its quota of 144 seats. Unhappy with the seat-sharing arrangement, Mukesh Sahni held a press conference and said his party was quitting the Grand Alliance since he did not get a "respectable offer". Besides this, sources said it is most likely that Chirag Paswan's LJP, a current BJP ally, will walk out of the NDA for the Bihar assembly elections and will contest polls only in seats where Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's JD is in the fray.
