Firearms and 3D printing laws spark reaction from gun owners and shooters
ABCGun owners and shooters say WA's new gun laws show a lack of knowledge and unwarranted fear of firearms. One firearm owner — who did not want to be identified — said banning cosmetic and functional features on currently legal firearms was "Orwellian and restrictive". Changes 'rarely logical' Beaton Firearms owner Zaine Beaton, who is a second generation in his family business, said the laws were the strictist in the country and hard to follow. "This isn't meant to sound denigrating — there are many things all of us are naïve of — but the average Western Australian wouldn't think about firearms except for when the news talks about unlawful firearm use," he said. "Instead of meaningful engagement with our members, responsible gun owners have been unfairly targeted," Mr Fitzgerald said.
