Mayhem in Mecca as extreme rain submerges city, gushing waters wash away cars

This is the condition of the holy city of Mecca now, whose surrounding areas are filled with heavy water now, including Jeddah city, according to a report by the Saudi Press Agency. Not just cars, buses have also remained stranded since the heavy waters began in the holy city of Islam. Saudi Arabia's Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Mecca, Madinah and the port city of Jeddah, which has seen repeated floods and was the site of a catastrophe in 2009 in which more than 100 people died. Saudi Arabia's National Meteorological Centre issued red alerts for several regions and closed down all public spaces, while schools in Eastern Province and Riyadh also cancelled in-person instruction and moved classes online.
