HMRL Celebrates Seven ‘Glorious Years’ as Catalyst for Hyd’s Economic Growth
Deccan ChronicleHyderabad:Hyderabad Metro Rail celebrated its seventh anniversary, claiming a ridership of 63.4 crore commuters, daily average footfall of 4.75 lakh passengers with 2024 clocking a peak of 5.63 lakh passengers. This is the world’s largest metro rail project implemented under the public-private partnership mode. Sai Nikhil, a digital marketing executive, who was felicitated as a ‘loyal rider’, said, “Metro Rail has been so helpful to me, I was able to beat the traffic of Hyderabad and meet my clients on time.” Auditor Sai Pratiba said, “Each day I take at least two trips. Reddy, managing director of HMRL, who is on this project since inception, said, “Hyderabad Metro Rail is not just a mode of transportation; it's a catalyst for economic growth, social development, and environmental sustainability.
