The Boomers' agonising road to Olympic Rose Gold

ABC

Joe Ingles and Patty Mills finally broke through for their first Olympic medal on their fourth attempt. Ingles said it felt a bit like encouraging platitudes in the aftermath of a brutal loss, but he and Mills set about trying to find practical things they could do to take the Boomers "to the next level". "We needed to bring meaning behind our group, something that'll make understand and touch base with why we're doing this," Mills said in the ABC's Rose Gold. "Team Australia, they've always banded together and there's always been a sense of pride and unity." "We still got a gold medal to get," said Mills, whose 36th birthday will fall on the same day as the final in Paris.
