Apple books coronavirus domain name after Google collaboration
Live MintApple has booked a domain name called AppleCoronavirus.com, after the iPhone maker and Google last week announced a joint effort to enable the use of Bluetooth technology to help governments and health agencies reduce the spread of the new coronavirus. The registrar is CSC Corporate Domains, a firm that protects domain names for large corporations, and is used by Apple for its domain name registrations, reports Mac Rumors. Apple and Google are launching a comprehensive solution that includes application programming interfaces and operating system-level technology to assist in enabling contact tracing. "In the coming months, Apple and Google will work to enable a broader Bluetooth-based contact tracing platform by building this functionality into the underlying platforms," the companies informed.
