Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard progressing in return from injury: When could he be back?
Clippers star Kawhi Leonard is progressing in his return to action after missing time due to injury management for his surgically repaired right knee, but the star still has “a ways to go,” coach Tyronn Lue said Friday. Lue said Leonard “looked pretty good” but they “still have a ways to go.” Backstory Leonard, a 31-year-old small forward, suffered a partially torn ACL in his right knee in the 2021 postseason and missed the entire 2021-22 season rehabbing. What they’re saying Lue was asked Friday whether it was fair to say Leonard was getting closer to his return, and responded, “Yes.” “Not tomorrow,” Lue said. Lue says that Leonard needs “more opportunities” so that the team can reassess his readiness to play, but he is getting closer to a return.
