The Monkey review: Theo James film is the newest Final Destination but fun

To all those who are reading this - why is Maine so infamous in Stephen King's novels? Starring Theo James, Tatiana Maslany, Colin O'Brien, and others, 'The Monkey' is a recently released thriller-comedy that will immediately remind cinephiles of the 'Final Destination' franchise. The film kicks off with Petey Shelburn Sr attempting to return a toy monkey he had bought for his twins, Hal and Bill. The supporting cast do their part well, but let’s be honest - this film belongs to Theo James and, of course, the Monkey itself. The cinematography is another highlight, capturing every gruesome freak accident in full detail - whether it’s a simple household mishap turned fatal or a man being reduced to a meat pulp in a horse stampede.
