Five policemen suspended, as video of them playing cards in police station goes viral

After a video footage showing a group of police personnel playing card games inside the Wadi Police Station in Chittapur taluk of Kalaburagi district went viral on social media platform on Tuesday, Superintendent of Police Adduru Srinivasulu issued suspension order to five police officers here on Wednesday. Mr. Srinivasulu issued the suspension order to Assistant Sub-Inspector Mahmud Miya, head constables Imam, Nagaraj and Saibanna and constable Nagabhushan besides serving them show-cause notice. In the video footage, of the five police personnel playing cards in the police station, two are in uniform and the other three in civil dress. Though the footage is an old one, it is intolerable and unacceptable that police personnel indulge in playing card games within the station, neglecting their duties and responsibilities,” Mr. Kharge wrote on his social media account and warned that indecent behavior by officers will not be tolerated.
