High-speed internet coverage becoming more common in outback Queensland towns

ABC

Outback Queensland internet users are navigating a "bush broadband jungle" as they welcome a new era of speeds and reliability that, in some cases, rivals city connectivity. "It's an urban myth that bush broadband is bad, because it's not," internet advocate Kristy Sparrow said. Getting up to speed Chris Gray at Alpha, about 1,000 kilometres north-west of Brisbane, is one of the town's 220 residents who previously accessed "intermittent" ADSL to use the internet. Alpha cafe owner Chris Gray says his internet speeds are about "20 times" faster.
