Three persons who submitted forged letters with signatures of the District Information and Public Relations Officer to screen short films and collect money from schools were arrested by police on Saturday. The police said that four individuals visited various government and private schools in the district, claiming to conduct awareness programmes through short film screenings. The PRO Sukumar lodged a complaint with the Erode North police, stating that private individuals were not allowed to conduct programmes in schools. During the inquiry, police found that Prasannaraj of Tiruchengodu, Karthikeyan from Chinna Pavadi, Govindaraj, and Sathyanarayanan from Sankari were involved in the act.
