Australians combat dementia through song

ABC

Sally Sara: Hundreds of thousands of Australians are living with dementia, but a team in New South Wales is using the power of music to help provide some relief by forming a choir for people with dementia and their carers. Bryan Dunn: A loss of memory, names and things I find sometimes hard to remember people's names and things like that. Kathleen O'Connor: The choir has around 40 members and aims to provide the singers with a social connection and a creative outlet. Kathleen O'Connor: Associate professor in clinical psychology Michelle Kelly also supports the group.
