One more person dies in elephant attack in Hassan district

A woman died after she was attacked by a wild elephant at Bommenahalli in Arehalli hobli of Belur taluk in Hassan district on Friday. The repeated incidents of elephant attack in Hassan district have left people in parts of Alur, Sakleshpur, and Belur taluks worried, including plantation workers. Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre visited Hassan on March 3 and held a meeting with officers and local people on the human-elephant conflict. He assured the local people that all jumbos wandering in Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, and Kodagu districts would be relocated to an elephant camp, proposed to come up in the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary.
