LG G8 might be announced at MWC 2019
India TodayFor past couple of years, smartphone makers have moved away from the trend of introducing their high-end flagship devices at the Mobile World Congress, opting for individual launch events instead. According to a report by Android Authority, the Korean electronics giant is reportedly planning to launch the LG G7 ThinQ successor, which we reviewed last year, at the MWC 2019 that is scheduled to take place in Barcelona between February 25 and February 28. However, it skipped MWC 2018 to launch LG G7 ThinQ at a special launch event in May last year. Besides launching its upcoming flagship device-- the LG LG8- on the sidelines of the mobile mega-fest,the company is also reportedly planning to accelerate its production schedule for the year 2019. At this point it remains unclear what prompted this change or how it would change the availablity of its flagship device in the global markets, but it is nice to see LG getting back in the game and going toe-to-toe with its competitors which includes Chinese brands like Xiaomi and OnePlus among others.
