In a stunning rebuke, House censures Rep. Rashida Tlaib over her Israel-Hamas rhetoric
LA TimesThis image from House Television video shows the tally of Tuesday’s vote to censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib for her rhetoric on the Israel-Hamas war. The House voted late Tuesday to censure Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan — the only Palestinian American in Congress — in an extraordinary rebuke of her rhetoric about the Israel-Hamas war. Rep. Brad Schneider, who is Jewish and was the lone Democrat to vote with Republicans on Tuesday to advance the censure resolution, said he believed it was important to debate the slogan “from the river to the sea.” “It is nothing else but the call for the destruction of Israel and murder of Jews,” he said. A second resolution by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene to censure Tlaib had also been scheduled for a procedural vote late Tuesday.
