Two killed, 20 injured as 18 coaches of Mumbai-Howrah Mail derail in Jharkhand
The HinduTwo persons were killed, and five others were injured after 18 coaches of Howrah-CSMT Express derailed near Chakradharpur in Jharkhand early on Tuesday. Safety ignored: Lalu Former Railway Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad slammed the Central government over the accident and said “safety of passengers is being ignored in the Railways”. “INDIA bloc and Hemant Soren ji have no hand in this ”, said Jharkhand Mukti Morcha in a post on social media, while urging the Central government to ask Railway Minister “to stop making reels and pay attention to Railways”. Among those trains which were short terminated were: 18114 Bilaspur - Tatanagar Express, which started its journey on July 29 was halted at Rourkela; 18190 Ernakulam - Tatanagar Express, which started its journey on July 28, was short terminated at Chakradharpur; 18011 Howrah - Chakradharpur Express, which commenced its journey on July 30, was short terminated at Adra; and 18110 Itwari - Tatanagar Express, which started on July 30, was short terminated at Bilaspur.
