Encroachments on 13 lakes cleared; govt. property worth ₹242.5 crore recovered

In a major anti-encroachment drive, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike cleared encroachments on 13 lakes and recovered government property worth ₹242.5 crore on Saturday. At Vibhutipura lake, encroachments on 8 guntas of land was removed and the value of the recovered property stood at ₹8 crore. In Bommanahalli Zone at Konanakunte lake, 30 guntas of land were reclaimed and fenced, valued at ₹30 crore. At Subbarayan lake, a total of 28 guntas, including 24 guntas of open land and 4 guntas of sheet-covered areas, were reclaimed and fenced, valued at ₹15 crore.
