X gets government notice to remove partial clips of Home Minister’s remarks on Ambedkar
The HinduThe Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre, under the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, has demanded that X, formerly Twitter, take down a clip of Home Minister Amit Shah’s contested remarks in Parliament on B.R. In an email to certain Congress MPs and to the official Congress X handle, the social media company cited the I4C charge that the viral clip “violates the law of India”. I4C complaint Earlier in April, the Delhi Police had lodged an FIR regarding a doctored video of Mr. Shah’s April 25 speech in Telangana regarding reservations, based on a complaint filed by the I4C. Though it was a political speech given during the general election campaign, the I4C official submitted a complaint that the doctored video was spreading misleading information with the intention of creating disharmony among communities which was “likely to affect public tranquillity and public order issues”.
