CUET UG candidates can opt for subjects beyond Class 12 stream

The Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate is undergoing significant changes starting in 2025. Students can now choose any subject for the exam, even if it wasn’t studied in Class 12, according to UGC Chairman Jagadesh Kumar. "Candidates will also be allowed to opt for subjects in CUET-UG which they haven't studied in class 12 to allow the students to cross over the rigid disciplinary boundaries in higher education," Kumar told PTI. LESSONS FROM THE PAST CUET UG’s first edition in 2022 faced technical issues, including glitches and score normalisation challenges due to exams being conducted across multiple shifts. CUET UG 2025 promises a streamlined and inclusive experience, offering students more choices and greater opportunities to explore diverse academic interests.
