Samsung Galaxy S21 Samsung has announced that it will offer four years of security updates, beating Google at its own game, as Pixel smartphones themselves get only three years of updates, which were said to be the longest on any Android device. Android smartphones generally get security updates for two years, apart from the Google Pixel series, which offers three full years of Security updates, including monthly patches as well as three Android updates. Samsung smartphones and tablets from 2019 onwards are now promised four years of Android Security updates.
