Congress must not get complacent after Karnataka victory: Shashi Tharoor
India TodaySenior Congress leader and MP from Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram, Shashi Tharoor on Saturday, said the Congress party must not get complacent ahead of the Lok Sabha election after defeating the BJP in Karnataka as voters could change their behaviour between state and national elections. "It is important for the Congress not to be complacent “In 2018, we not only came out as the single-largest party in Karnataka, but also registered victories in Rajasthan, MP and Chhattisgarh. Yet, when the Lok Sabha elections came around, BJP trounced us in these states,” the Congress leader told news agency PTI. Speaking on the Congress’s campaign that was run ahead of the Karnataka Assembly polls, Shashi Tharoor said, “Lead was taken very much on the ground by local leaders”.
