For many of those afflicted with the mysterious disease, it starts with a strange noise. In 2018, a US Government study recently obtained by BuzzFeed News concluded that eight of the original Havana syndrome cases in Cuba were triggered by crickets. However, three years later, another US Government report concluded that the cause appears to be "consistent with the effects of directed, pulsed radio frequency energy".
