More than 300 schools reopen in Mizoram

The Mizoram government has allowed the reopening of over 300 schools in Covid-19 free areas for the new academic session 2021-22. The school education department had on August 9 issued an order allowing the re-opening of schools for primary to higher secondary level in Covid-19 free towns and villages subject to prior consultation with deputy commissioners. School Education department director James Lalrinchhana told PTI that at least 376 schools in seven districts, including Aizawl district, have been allowed to re-open for the new academic session 2021-2022. He further added that the School Education Department is currently identifying schools in the Covid-19 free areas and that more schools will reopen in upcoming days.
