Imperative to abide by Constitutional norms: Social Welfare Minister Mahadevappa
The HinduThe 76th Republic Day celebrations in Mysuru were marked by patriotic fervour and zeal, and the Minister for Social Welfare H.C. Mahadevappa led the main celebrations held at Bannimantap Ground here on Sunday. This is the day on which the Constitution of India came into effect and the country became a Sovereign, Democratic, and Republic State, said Mr. Mahadevappa. Mr. Mahadevappa said the Constitution recognised the diversity of languages, religions, customs, and traditions inherent in the country and recognised the concept of unity in diversity. In this context, Mr. Mahadevappa said the State government under Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had also taken up the task of creating greater awareness of the Constitutional values among school and college-going students and the general public through the mass reading of the preamble of the Constitution and taking a vow to abide by it.
