Putin says Russia invading Poland or Lativia is 'out of the question'

Daily Mail

Vladimir Putin played down fears of World War Three last night by claiming the prospect of Russia invading Poland or Latvia was 'out of the question'. Putin made the comments in an interview with controversial American talk show host Tucker Carlson, his first with a Western journalist since before Russia's invasion of Ukraine nearly two years ago on February 24, 2022. But Putin ruled out the possibility of Russia invading Poland or Latvia - a scenario that has been put forward by analysts, many of whom believe the Russian president has ambitions beyond Ukraine's western borders. Putin also outrageously claimed - without evidence - last night that he was ready to sign a deal to end the war with Ukraine a year and a half ago, but that Mr Johnson - then Prime Minister of the United Kingdom - scuppered the deal.
