Manmohan apprised of Rathore case

The molestation case involving a former Director General of the Haryana Police, S.P.S. Rathore, came up informally when the Minister of State for Women and Child Development Krishna Tirath called on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to greet him for the new year’s on Friday morning. Apprising Dr. Singh of the incident, Ms. Tirath said she had sought a report from the NCW, based on the meeting of the committee of lawyers constituted to look into the matter. Talking to journalists after the meeting, Ms. Tirath said the Prime Minister was sensitive about the issue and wanted to know the latest update on the case. Ms. Tirath said she was in touch with the Law Minister and wanted special fast track courts to decide such cases.
