'Representation To Cancel LoP Rahul Gandhi's Citizenship Pending Consideration': Central Govt Informs Allahabad High Court

Today, the Central Government informed the Allahabad High Court that a representation seeking the cancellation of Congress leader and LoP in LokSabha Rahul Gandhi's citizenship is currently pending consideration. During the hearing, Advocate Ashok Pandey, who seeks to intervene in the PIL plea, also made a submission that he had moved a representation for cancellation of Gandhi's citizenship in 2019, however, Union Home Ministry is yet to take a decision on the same. His PIL plea also states that he made detailed enquiries into the issue, got several 'new inputs', and sent emails to the UK government seeking details about Gandhi's citizenship records. It may be noted that Bhartiya Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy has also filed a petition in the Delhi High Court regarding Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's citizenship.
