The city police busted a gang that cheated many people promising them jobs as ticket collectors in the Indian Railways. The gang not only collected money over several instalments promising jobs but also sent them fake appointment orders in registered posts. Fake GPAs In another case, CCB busted a gang that had created a fake general power of attorney in the name of a dead person and sold a property in the city. City Police Commissioner B. Dayananda said that cases of cheating using forged GPAs in the name of dead property owners had become a concern and appealed to people to be vigilant and report such cases to the police.
