Nigel Farage’s campaign anthem will be Eminem hit
The TelegraphTheir influential careers have won them legions of both fans and critics, and they have never shied away from controversy and changing the course of their respective fields. So it is little surprise that Nigel Farage has adopted a song by the Detroit-raised rapper Eminem – real name Marshall Mathers – as a de facto campaign anthem on his return to front line politics. The Reform UK leader, who took over from Richard Tice on Monday, is using the chorus of the rapper’s 2002 hit Without Me in a series of social media videos to promote his comeback. The lyrics to the song’s chorus are: “Now this looks like a job for me so everybody, just follow me, ’cause we need a little controversy, ’cause it feels so empty without me.” A source close to Mr Farage said: “Whilst I would not go as far as saying it’s been adopted as the campaign anthem, Nigel and team thought the metaphors in the chorus were spot on. Perhaps the line ‘I’ve created a monster’ can be reflected on by this current Conservative Party.” Mr Farage posted a 17-second montage of him campaigning to the soundtrack of Without Me on Monday after he had succeeded Mr Tice.
