When Virat Kohli was ruled out of the first ODI against England on Thursday, Shreyas Iyer grabbed the chance and hit a brilliant, attacking 59 to turn the match in India’s favour. Besides Indian selectors have largely retained the performers from the 2023 ODI World Cup, where Iyer had aggregated 530 runs and was the team’s third leading run scorer.
