Kia introduces updates to Carens, Sonnet
The HinduDespite being launched a few months ago, the waiting period for Kia Carens MPV has crossed the five-month mark for select variants. The petrols include a 115hp 1.5-litre naturally aspirated unit and a more powerful 140hp 1.4-litre turbocharged unit, while the diesel engine is a 115hp 1.5-litre mill. The top-spec trim gets features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech, keyless go, cruise control, auto climate control, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging and rear-view camera. The Sonet comes with three engines — an 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine; 120hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine; and a 115hp, 1.5-litre diesel. Kia Sonet rivals other compact SUVs like the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue, Toyota Urban Cruiser and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
