Got taste of draconian govt when we tried to visit Kashmir: Rahul Gandhi
India TodayCongress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said that the opposition delegation got the taste of the "draconian administration" and the "brute force unleashed on the people in J&K" when the leaders tried to visit Kashmir on Saturday. Taking to Twitter, Rahul Gandhi said that it has been 20 days since the government decided to scrap the provisions of Article 370 that, he said, curtailed the "freedom and civil liberties" of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Leaders of the Opposition and the press got a taste of the draconian administration and the brute force unleashed on the people of J&K when we tried to visit Srinagar yesterday," Rahul Gandhi tweeted. Rahul Gandhi said that the delegation wanted to get a sense of what people were going through in the region but "we were not allowed beyond the airport".
