Union Minister Suresh Gopi: Media misleading public perception of film industry

The Hindu

Firing back at the media, actor and Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Tourism has said the scandals plaguing the film industry are nothing more than “media fabrications.” In response to questions about the allegations of sexual abuse against actors, Mr. Gopi on Tuesday claimed that the media was “distorting public perception” and that controversies serve as nothing more than sensational “fodder” for their coverage. Asked about the emergence of new allegations in the film industry, he reiterated that it is the court’s responsibility to address them. You can ask questions about the film industry controversies only when I am at the AMMA office,” he said. He said questions about personal matters should be asked when “one is at his house, and questions about official matters when one is leaving the office.”
