Deccan ChronicleWARANGAL: The BRS, fearing defeat in the upcoming Assembly elections, is using police force to suppress voices of opposition leaders, said DCC president Naini Rajendar Reddy, who participated in a dharna held at MGM circle in Hanamkonda on Monday. The Congress called for a Maha dharna and a siege of the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation, demanding that the BRS government fulfil its promises of distributing double bedroom houses and assisting flood victims, as well as sanctioning ex gratia to family members of those who died as a result of the floods. However, when police officers refused to allow them to approach close the GWMC, a huge number of Congress activists led by DCC president Naini Rajendar Reddy marched to MGM circle, a few metres away from the municipal corporation headquarters, and staged a dharna sitting on the road. However, even after nine years in power, the BRS government has failed to keep any of its promises to the people, and citizens living in various colonies within the GWMC boundaries are suffering from a lack of basic infrastructure.” He promised that the Congress will form the government in three months and handle all concerns concerning residents of the GWMC bounds.
