Kerala declares compensation package, CM crosses swords with MoS V Muraleedharan on ’enough’ central aid
Live MintBengaluru: Kerala government on Wednesday announced a relief package for flood victims. Every displaced family will get ₹10,000, and for damaged houses the government will give ₹4 lakh, pending an official estimation, said chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan. "Kerala announces package for flood compensation: Every disaster dislocated family to receive ₹10,000, fully damaged houses ₹4 lakh, 15 kg free rice for fisher folks and families in the affected areas and ₹4 lakh for disaster related deaths," tweeted state finance minister TM Thomas Isaac. Meanwhile, the CM criticised Union minister of state for external affairs and BJP leader from Kerala V. Muraleedharan for the latter's comment that “enough” central aid has been distributed in the flood-hit state. "I was told by the Union Minister of State for Home that when he asked the Kerala Chief Minister if he was happy with the Centre's response, Pinarayi Vijayan remarked, this is enough," Muraleedharan was quoted by website The Newsminute as saying on Tuesday.
