After protests, government puts off Group 2 exams

Rama Rao on Saturday announced that the Group II recruitment examination had been postponed, following intense protests and the Telangana High Court taking up the matter. He took to X to say that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had directed Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari to consult with the TS Public Service Commission and reschedule the exam to ensure that the nearly 5.5 lakh aspirants are not put to inconvenience. "The CM has also advised the Chief Secretary to ensure proper staggering of the recruitment notifications in future so that every aspirant gets adequate time to prepare for all eligible exams," Rama Rao said in a tweet on Saturday night. The exams were originally scheduled on August 29 and 30 but aspirants took to the streets earlier this week demanding that it be postponed as they wouldn't have enough time to prepare for the same, given that a few other competitive exams were scheduled during the month.
