TIRUPATI: The Central Bureau of Investigation is set to investigate claims of adulterated cow ghee used in the famous Tirumala laddus, following a Supreme Court directive spurred by a petition from YSRC leaders. The inquiry was sparked by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who cited a National Dairy Development Board report claiming that ghee from a Tamil Nadu supplier contained non-dairy fats like fish oil, beef tallow, and lard. In response, the state initiated its own inquiry, with an SIT led by IG Tripathi inspecting Tirupati facilities, including the Laddu potu.The CBI team will expand on the state police's preliminary findings.
