Evacuation of Manjolai workers will lead to bloodshed, warns PT chief Krishnasamy
The HinduIf the DMK government is still keen on evacuating the Manjolai tea estate workers from their ‘homeland’ despite resistance from the families living for several decades in the tea garden, which was created by their ancestors, it will lead to bloodshed, Puthiya Tamilagam president K. Krishnasamy has warned. He told presspersons here on Thursday that the meeting discussed winning back the rights of Manjolai tea estate workers, who were being forcibly moved out of the tea estate after the Supreme Court ruled in favour of the Tamil Government. Hence, the PT would organise agitations in support of the tea estate workers. It was an injustice meted out to the Devendrakula Vellalar and Paraiyar community people living in large numbers in the southern and northern Tamil Nadu respectively.
