Australia's real unemployment rate is higher than states and territories have have closed borders

The real level of unemployment is higher in states and territories that have closed their borders to other parts of Australia. The Northern Territory has Australia's effective unemployment rate of 12.1 per cent - despite the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.
