Why is Delhi's air quality still 'very poor' despite reduced stubble burning?

Delhi’s air quality remained in the "very poor" category for the sixth day in a row, with the Air Quality Index reaching 351 at 8 am on Saturday. While stubble burning, which has traditionally been a major contributor to pollution, has decreased, air quality in the capital city has not improved. The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology in Pune said that the contribution of stubble burning to Delhi’s pollution has fallen to under 5 per cent. Additionally, the mixing height and ventilation index are expected to remain low, trapping pollutants near the ground and worsening air quality.
