Scholars advocate for re-orienting arts, media towards peace and ecosophy
The HinduScholars across borders, participating in an International Conference organised by Gandhian Centre for Philosophical Arts and Sciences, Manipal Academy of Higher Education as a part of its decennial celebrations, emphasised the need for re-orienting different arts and media towards peace and ecosophy in Manipal on Friday. Talking about the meeting points between ecosophy and aesthetics, culture critic N. Manu Chakravarthy argued for an ethical approach to aesthetics and technology. Writer-director Mahesh Dattani maintained that tradition and modernity need not be against each other in aesthetics, saying there could be a fine blend between the two. Media-academic Buroshiva Dasgupta advocated the need for an ethical approach to media, technology and Artificial Intelligence.
