
Tamil Nadu Cabinet approves investment proposals worth ₹44,125 crore in renewable energy, electronics, food processing sectors
The HinduCHENNAI: A meeting of the Tamil Nadu Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister M.K. The investment proposals cleared by the Tamil Nadu Cabinet were in the automobiles, electronics, food processing, renewable energy, battery manufacturing sectors, among others. Sembcorp would invest ₹21,340 crore in Thoothukudi district generating employment for over 1,100 people, while Motherson would invest ₹2,600 crore in Kancheepuram district to generate employment for over 2,500 people. Milky Mist would invest ₹1,777 crore in Erode district and Lohum Tech would invest ₹1,597 crore in Krishnagiri district on lithium battery recycling. The Cabinet also approved three policies for Energy Department -- pumped storage projects, small hydel projects and wind repowering and refurbishment and life extension.
