Karnataka MLA writes to DK Shivakumar over cabinet minister's BJP ties
India TodayWhispers of internal rift in Congress resurfaced after a Karnataka Congress MLA accused Davangere district in-charge minister of colluding with BJP to undermine the party. In a letter addressed to Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Channagiri MLA Basavaraju V Shivaganga asked that Davangere district in-charge minister SS Mallikarjun be immediately replaced. Basavaraju, who is also the Davangere district Kisan Congress chief, in the letter alleged that Mallikarjun was closely aligned with the BJP, causing embarrassment to the ruling party in the district. In his letter to Shivakumar who is also the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president, Basavaraju called for the examination of the district in-charge minister’s actions, specifically regarding his apparent contradictory approach, wherein he apparently issued one order while influencing the outcome differently, called the ibbangi policy.
