‘Kohrra’ series review: Landscape in the mist

The Hindu

Like Memories of Murder, Kohrra opens on a vast, verdant field. Kohrra Creators: Sudip Sharma, Gunjit Chopra and Diggi Sisodia Cast: Suvinder Vicky, Barun Sobti, Harleen Sethi, Manish Chaudhari, Varun Badola, Rachel Shelley, Amaninder Pal Singh Episodes: 6 Run-time: 45-50 minutes Storyline: Two cops strive to solve the murder of an NRI, slain days before his wedding in the Punjab countryside Over the next few episodes, Balbir and Garundi clumsily accost a bunch of suspects. In a blackly comic detail, Paul’s phone cannot be accessed via Facial Recognition because, as Garundi drily says, his face has been badly disfigured. Manish Chaudhari, Varun Badola, Harleen Sethi and Amaninder Pal Singh are all perfectly cast, and it’s thrilling to see Rachel Shelley back in Hindi cinema. For some reason, it’s not enough to have ‘love is a dog from hell’ written on a character’s wall; we also hear Balbir mutter a variation on the line.
