Ex-MLA and BJP leader found dead at official residence in Srinagar

BJP leader and former legislator Faqeer Mohammad Khan was found dead with gunshot wounds at his official residence in Srinagar on Thursday. Preliminary reports said the 62-year-old BJP leader was found in a pool of blood, and a service rifle of his security guard was beside him, at his official accommodation at Srinagar’s Tulsibagh area. Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather, while remembering the former legislator, prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and forbearance for the family to bear the loss. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, while conveying the news in the House, remembered the former legislator as a grassroots leader, who contributed significantly to the welfare of the people of Gurez.
