Northern Territory records three new COVID cases, including an infant in hospital
ABCThe Northern Territory has recorded three new local cases of COVID-19 overnight, Chief Minister Michael Gunner says. Key points: The outbreak now stands at 40 cases One new close contact exposure site has been identified Mr Gunner says restrictions in Katherine will likely stay in place until December 4 All are close contacts of known cases, and one is an infant from Robinson River. "This indicates there continues to be positive cases in Katherine that are yet to be detected," Mr Gunner said. NT Police Commissioner Jamie Chalker said authorities hoped the lockdown could be lifted once Katherine's double-dose vaccination rate reached 80 per cent, though that could not be guaranteed. In an unrelated incident, Commissioner Chalker said a man at Coolalinga vaccination centre in Darwin pushed away the hands of a health worker, "grabbed the needle and injected himself with the vaccine".
