Soon you will be able to send text messages using Google Assistant without unlocking your smartphone
Voice has become one of the most important methods of interacting with smart gadgets. As of now, users need to unlock their Andriod smartphones for allowing the Google Assistant on their Android smartphones to send text messages to people. But that might change in future as Google is testing a new technique wherein users will be able to send text messages to people using the Google Assistant without unlocking their smartphones. According to a report by 9To5 Google, Google app's latest beta update - version 10.28 - included a new functionality as a part of the company's A/B test earlier this week that allows the Google Assistant to respond to 'send a text message' command directly from the lockscreen of the smartphone. The publication noted that since it is an A/B test, the functionality wherein the Google Assistant sends a text message from the lock screen of the phone, is limited and is not available widely on Android smartphones.
